CAMPUS NEWS & EVENTS

  1. It is time for the 73rd Annual Turkey Sale! The Poultry Science Club at The Ohio State University is once again hosting a fundraiser selling turkeys for the holiday season. Bowman and Landes has kindly offered to partner with us for this event.

  2. Ever wanted to learn more about the judging teams or how to participate?  Now is the chance! Meet the Teams Night will be held October 31st from 5pm to 7pm in the Animal Science Arena. Learn about our various judging teams and enjoy pizza with faculty!

INTERNSHIP & PART-TIME ANNOUNCEMENTS

  3. For two years Texas Tech University has administered the National Bio- and Agri-defense Facility (NBAF) training program through support from USDA-APHIS. The objective of the program is to train undergraduate students in laboratory techniques and animal handling.

  4. Phibro Animal Health is looking for candidates for their summer undergraduate internship program, specifically dairy-interested students! Find more information here.

  5. Are you a STEM student interested in summer research opportunities? Are you excited to do research at nationally and internationally renowned universities? Consider applying for summer research fellowships this year!

  6. Assist with surgeries and support ambulatory doctors in the field; you’ll see it all at Desert Pines Equine!

  7. Applications for the inaugural Select Sires Member Coorperative summer internship program are now open! The application period  will close on November 30, 2023, with at least 10 student interns chosen as the Select Sires Member Cooperative 2024 Summer Interns throughout the coop’s 27-state

  8. Spy Coast Farm’s Equine Education Center is offering undergraduate internship opprotunities!

  9. Applications for the Spring 2024 Kentucky Equine Management Internship are now open and due by October 31st! The Spring 2024 internship focuses on mares, foals, breeding & reproduction. This is a semester-long internship, January 8- June 7, 2024, with housing and an hourly salary.

  13. The Equine Reproduction Labratory at Colorado State University has new openings for 5 internship positions beginning on Janurary 8th through July 31st. More information can be found here

  14. The Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology in the College of Veterinary Medicine and the Biosecurity Research Institute (BRI) at Kansas State University are accepting applications for up to ten undergraduate or recent B.S. graduates for fellowship positions for the summer of 2024.

  15. PACE Ag Group has opened their 2024 internship applications! Interns will gain commercial dairy operation experience through completing the day-to-day tasks by working alongside managers and employees on our farms.

  16. Elanco Animal Health Incorporation has just released new internship positions for summer of 2024! Here are some different positions listed below along with their application portals:

LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT

  1. If you are interested in the Dairy Industry and are wanting to learn more about it or want express your current knowledge, Dairy Challenge is a great way to do just that.

  2. SKY Happiness Retreat is a high-impact 16-hour total well-being training offered to thousands of university students, faculty, and staff across the country.

  3. Applications to apply for opprotunities as an undergraduate teaching assistant are open and will close December 1st at 11:59pm. Students are able to earn ANIMSCI 3488 credit.
