  1. Staff Spotlight: Rachel Lokai and Dr. Brooklyn Wagner

    Rachel Lokai, Fiscal Officer 2 and Dr. Brooklyn Wagner, Lecturer and Coordinating Advisor for undergraduate students join the Department of Animal Sciences.

CAMPUS NEWS & EVENTS

  1. The Poultry Science Club at OSU is now taking orders for their 72nd Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Sale until November 8th! The turkeys are supplied by Bowman & Landes, Inc. and are free range, raised without antibiotics, and fed a vegetable diet.

  2. The November BIYC is Dodgeball in the Animal Science Arena on Wednesday, November 16th from 5:30-7:30! This is a good opportunity to relieve the stress of exams and meet new people! No teams are required and food and drinks are provided!

  3. The Meat Science Club invites you to try meat judging! Join the Sixth Annual Buckeye Classic Meat Judging Contest on Thursday, November 3rd.

  5. Registration for the 2023 Spring Semester is Almost Here. We want to share with you some of the changes in the Animal Sciences curriculum and the offering of courses:

INTERNSHIP & PART-TIME ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. Fort Christopher’s Toroughbreds, LLC is a modern, thoroughbred facility located just 15 minutes from historic Saratoga Racecourse. They are currently accepting applications for the Breeding Internship program.

  2. CentralStar is accepting applications for several, paid, agricultural-related internship opportunities in Wisconsin and Michigan during summer 2023. Areas of interest include artificial insemination (A.I), milk-and-diagnostic-laboratory testing, and research and development.

  7. Columbus Humane is looking for a Behavior and Enrichment Intern! This opportunity will expose participants to the role of animal behavior in shelter operations.

  9. Just a reminder that applications for the Kentucky Equine Management Internship (KEMI) Spring 2023 session are being accepted now through Monday, October 31.
