CAMPUS NEWS & EVENTS

  1. Are you interested in participating on one of our judging teams?  Our October Buckeye’s In Your Corner event is going to feature an opportunity to hear more about competing on the teams from our coaches, and a chance to spend time visiting with those you’re interested in afterwards.

  2. If you’re interested in pursuing the joint veterinary technology program we offer with Columbus State Community College, come to the mandatory information session (for those that will want to apply this year) on October 11th at 5:00 in PH 102!

  3. Dr. Sheena Warman, a professor from Bristol Veterinary School in the UK, will be in Columbus to speak to PVMA on October 6th from 6-7 pm in Plumb Hall 220! She will be speaking about the veterinary program at the University of Bristol.

  4. The Animal Science Department is now taking orders for departmental embroidered and silkscreen clothing items (button up shirts, polos, jackets, vests, tees, sweatshirts, hats, etc.).

  5. Looking for information on WHEN and HOW to schedule your classes? This is the event for you! With food provided, join your peers as they explore tips and tricks for making scheduling decisions and virtually enrolling in the correct classes for upcoming semesters.

  6. There will be an information session on graduate school opportunities on October 20th at 6:00pm in room 212 in the Animal Sciences Building or on zoom.

    The following questions will be explored and answered:

  7. Join the Human-Animal Interactions Club and the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium on October 6th for their annual Sloth Yoga event! Open to all - come participate in a beginner yoga session led by instructors from Rec Sports and featuring sloths from the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium.

  8. Interested in studying abroad but not sure where to start? 

    Come and learn more about the ways you can study abroad through CFAES! No appointment necessary.

INTERNSHIP & PART-TIME ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. Vetcare Animal Wellness Clinic in Gahanna has a few positions open! It is a small clinic, so it is a tight-knit staff and you would get lots of experience.

  3. Alta Genetics is now hiring students to join them for our 2023 Dairy Business Internship! For more information, see attached

  4. Canine Academy in Lancaster, OH is looking to hire for their Care Team! They are a dog training and boarding facility and the care team members complete daily tasks such as walking and playing with dogs, cleaning kennels, and providing dogs with fresh food and water throughout the day.

  5. The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine is hiring an Animal Caretaker for their Finley Farm. It is part-time with flexible hours.

  6. The American Jersey Cattle Association is looking for parttime help in their Herd Services department. They are looking to hire someone who would want at least 10 hours per week, with an upper limit of around 20-25 hours.

RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES

  1. Are you interested in the field of Laboratory Animal Health? If so, University Laboratory Animal Resources (ULAR) is offering a shadowing opportunity for current OSU undergraduate students.

LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT

  1. If you are a rank 2, consider applying for ROMOPHOS, Ohio State's sophomore class honorary. See the attached flier. 

     

     

  2. Do you enjoy sharing your passion for Ohio State with others? Would you be willing to show high school students what it's like to be a Buckeye? The "Experience Ohio State for a Day" (EOFD) Program allows prospective students to get a feel for what college is really like.
