CAMPUS NEWS & EVENTS

  1. The OIA 2024 Global Education Expo will be held on Tuesday, September 10 from 2 – 5 p.m. in the Archie Griffin East Ballroom at the Ohio Union. 

  2. Before the CFAES Career Fair on September 26th, there will be two prep sessions to help students get ready!

    There will be an in-person session on September 10th in Nosker House from 6-7pm. 

INTERNSHIP & PART-TIME ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. ST genetics Ohio Heifer Center, located in South Charleston, has some great opportunities for full time or part time help in their maternity barn for current or past students.

  2. The zebrafish facility has up to 3 student assistant positions available ($13/hour) to join the zebrafish husbandry team. The position is ideal for students interested in animal holding systems, freshwater tropical fish care, veterinary medicine, fisheries, animal husbandry, etc.

RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES

  1. The Animal Welfare & Ethology Research (AWER) Lab at The Ohio State University is seeking a graduate student to pursue an MS in Animal Science with an emphasis on animal behavior and welfare based in Columbus, OH.

STUDY ABROAD INFORMATION

  1. The Global Education Department is beginning to host information sessions for their Spring Break 2025 slate of offerings. The application deadline for all of these programs is October 15th, 2024. See attachments below for each program! 

LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT

  1. Pork Prospect is an experience designed to connect undergraduate students with swine production. Their project aims to connect younger first year students with swine production early in their college career so that we can help secure future talent for the industry. Students reported having a

  2. Join other CFAES Ohio State student for a four-day Leaders Conference in Kansas City where you’ll get to work on your professional skills, make connections with fellow students from other University and hear from the folks guiding the agriculture industry.

HELPFUL RESOURCES

  1. All OSU Counseling and Consultation Services (CCS) staff were sent home to tele-commute until further notice.The CCS phone line 614-292-5766 remains available for emergency assistance 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.
