When you join the Department of Animal Sciences, you not only join a department, a college, and a university, you join a legacy—a legacy joined by thousands of other alumni. Our alumni are working in the agricultural and allied industries all over the state of Ohio, the U.S., and the world. They are working with breed and trade organizations to promote their industries, as lab technicians testing food samples for food-borne illnesses, as trainers of service canines for the physically challenged, as animal nutrition consultants to help producers optimize their animals’ growth and health, as managers of their own farm operations, as researchers discovering new genes that impact economically relevant traits or creating DNA-marker technology for optimizing selection and management, as sales people selling pharmaceutical products, or as technicians using artificial insemination and embryo transfer technologies to breed animals. Some have gone on to veterinary, medical, or other allied health schools and are providing healthcare services for animals and humans. There is a world of opportunity waiting for you.
